About Malaysia Ice Hockey Federation

The Malaysia Ice Hockey Federation (MIHF) is the national governing body for ice hockey in Malaysia and is certified by the Olympic Council of Malaysia. MIHF is an associate member (member No. 65) of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the global governing body of ice hockey.

MIHF governs all ice hockey activities in the country, including but not limited to hockey schools, leagues, coaching and officiating programs, and tournaments. Any individual, group or company intending to engage in ice hockey related activities must obtain prior written approval from MIHF. Failure to do so will be subjected to relevant legal repercussions.

Vision: To actively promote ice hockey in Malaysia

Mission: It is the federation’s mission to cultivate and nurture ice hockey talents through holistic planning in order to achieve the goal of participating in IIHF World Championship tournaments.

MIHF logo

The logo carries a deep meaning for MIHF. Its colors represent the colors of the Malaysian flag, red, blue, white and yellow. The player, in a ready to shoot pose, represents Malaysian ice hockey’s intent to propel the country (the 14-point star) towards excellence.

Sub committees

Sub committees for MIHF are: Development, Education, Support & Communication, Facilities, Safety, Finance, Program Selection and Competitions. These committees are led by the MIHF Exco and relevant parties are invited to sit in the committee.
